Regular Season Round 29: VKM 2 - Valur 89-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of IcelandicValur (7-1) against Lithuanian VKM 2 on Sunday night. VKM 2 were defeated by Lithuanian VKM 2 (3-1) 89-76 . It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Valur. The game was mostly controlled by VKM 2. Valur managed to win second period 19-17 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. VKM 2 forced 28 Valur turnovers and had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. VKM 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Nojus Barcys orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. Matas Mikenas contributed with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. VKM 2's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Benoni Andrason answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Pall Einarsson added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Valur. Five Valur players scored in double figures. Despite that victory VKM 2 went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with 4 other teams. Valur at the other side keeps the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with 7 other teams.
